अमेरिकाको कोलोराडोमा लामो समय देखी बसोबास र व्यवसाय गर्दै आएका एक जना नेपाली व्यवसायी भेषराज लामिछानेको व्हिटरिज, कोलोराडोस्थित एउटा आफ्नै स्टोरमा जनवरी ५, २०२३ बिहीबार साँझ कुनै लुटेराद्वारा गोली हानी हत्या भएको छ । यो हत्याले अमेरिका स्थित नेपाली समुदाय स्तब्ध भएको छ । स्थानीय प्रहरीले लुटेरालाई पक्राउ गरेको र घटनाको अनुसन्धान गरिरहेको बताएको छ ।

नेपाली समुदायका एक सक्रिय सदस्य अति मिलनसार ५३ वर्षीय लामिछानेका चार छोराछोरी र श्रीमती छन् । लुटेराको गोली लागि मृत्युवरण गर्न पुगेका भेषराज लामिछानेको आत्मालाई चिर शान्ति मिलोस्, भावपूर्ण श्रद्धाञ्जली र पीडित परिवारप्रति हाम्रो तर्फबाट समवेदना पनि ।

CBS News: The owner and clerk of a gas station and convenience store in Wheat Ridge was shot and killed at his business on Thursday night, Wheat Police Department said.

In an update from Indiana State Police and Wheat Ridge PD, the suspect identified as Shawnathan Deangelo Chance, 26, was captured in Indiana.

According to a news release from the department, officers responded to the call for suspicious activity at the business at approximately 8 p.m. It is located at 12300 W 44th Avenue.

When first responders arrived, the 53-year-old victim identified as Vesharaj Lamichhane, was found dead and there was no suspect at the scene.

"He made sure everyone was alright. He even gave me toboggans, free drinks, everyone loved him," said Jakob Sloan, a regular customer. "He was a great guy and I hope his soul rests in peace."

Investigators said they learned from surveillance recordings that the suspect attacked the clerk and then shot and killed him. Then the suspect got away from the scene in the victim's car.

"There were a lot of cameras, they obviously immediately went to that surveillance footage and were able to see a suspect come in and attack the clerk, leave him for dead, and essentially flee the victim's vehicle and flee the scene," said Joanna Small, a spokesperson with Wheat Ridge Police.

Detectives have embarked on "an exhaustive investigation" since the crime and the department said on Friday morning it won't release any further information about the suspect or the victim's vehicle.

"We don't get these kinds of criminal incidents pretty frequently, so it's been pretty shocking to the community," Small said.

Troopers Arrest Colorado Murder Suspect after Brief Chase

Posey County – Friday morning, January 6, at approximately 10:23 a.m., Trooper Fulton was patrolling I-64 near the 7 mile-marker when he observed the driver of a gray 2015 Nissan Pathfinder traveling east at 86 mph. Trooper Fulton attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued to travel east at a high rate of speed before exiting north onto SR 165 and then west on CR 1000 South. The driver reached speeds in excess of 90 mph before losing control, leaving the roadway on the south side, rolling several times, and coming to a final rest in an open field. The driver was not injured and was taken into custody. A vehicle registration inquiry on the Nissan revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen from Wheat Ridge, CO, and may have been involved in a homicide on Thursday, January 5. Indiana State Police detectives were later able to determine the driver, Shawnathan Deangelo Chance, 26, of Dunn, NC, was a suspect in the homicide. Based on information obtained by Indiana State Police detectives after the crash, Chance was arrested on probable cause for the homicide and will be transported to the Posey County Jail where he will be held without bond for Colorado authorities.
